Tai Chi Classes

Reset Chi•Flow invites you to
rediscover movement as medicine.

What is Reset Chi•Flow?

Born from 25 years of practice as a manual therapist, helping people to move more freely and live with less pain, and four decades of Tai Chi and Qigong practice, Reset Chi•Flow uses the Tai Chi short form as a vehicle to gently restore your body’s natural vitality.

What will I learn?

In successive classes, we gradually learn the traditional Tai Chi Yang style short form but also explore everyday human movements —walking,  breathing, standing, sitting—and uncover the unconscious patterns that not only colour how we face the world but also affect how we are seen by others.

What will I gain?

Through simple Tai Chi patterns, you’ll release tension, improve mobility and balance, and reconnect to the effortless rhythm your body was designed for.

What to expect?

Expect gentle unwinding, improved posture, deeper breathing, and a renewed sense of flow that carries into everything you do.

What will I discover?

You will discover things about how your body works that will surprise and hopefully delight you.

Reset Chi•Flow invites you to rediscover movement as medicine.

Some of the themes we will look at:

  1. Breathing: What is it? How do I breathe? How might I do it better?
  2. What is posture? “How do I feel in this space?”
  3. Where do I stand? What is my natural resource – sky or earth?
  4. How do my feet affect my posture? How well am I connected to the earth?
  5. Stepping: Can I walk with less effort? Am I in control of where I move?
  6. Does my body move as a connected system or as individual parts? Am I trying to move with my brakes on?
  7. How do I face the world? Is my head on straight?
  8. Am I taking up all the space I need? How much space outside of my body do I inhabit?
